  • Select a drive and enter a folder path: \\server\share
  • Check Reconnect at logon
  • Check Connect using different credentials
  • Click Finish
  • Enter Username and Password, and check Remember my credentials
  • Access to the share should be available

Windows XP:

  • Go to Control Panel > User Accounts, click Manage my network passwords
  • Click add, and add the following:
    • Server = <hostname>
    • User name = <hostname>\<username>
    • Password = <password>
  • Open Windows Explorer > Tools > Map network drive
  • Select a drive and enter a folder path: \\server\share
  • Click Connect using a different user name, and, when prompted, choose the newly created use
  • Enter the password and check Remember password
  • Access to the share should be available
